editor’s note: As with every guide, this very useful tool contains some opinion from the author

Healers are generally seen as the stronger type of shaman when it comes to PVP, while dragons are generally considered stronger in PVM. But built right, healers can do quite well in PVM, too. I never had any big problems leveling myself even though it takes a lot of hard work and dedication. If you want easy leveling you shouldn’t choose to be a shaman at all.

Stats
To start out you will need some points in VIT the first few levels to get you going. Then you should put point in INT and VIT in a 1:2 ratio (put the first 2 points each level in VIT and the 3rd in INT), I changed my opinion on this, before I thought INT should be maxed first but in lower levels a shaman really need the HP and defense u get from VIT to level easier. When VIT is maxed around lvl 4x you put all your points in INT until that is maxed out too. When both VIT and INT is maxed out you should put all your points in DEX. There is no need to put any points in STR until all other stats are maxed out.
When u get above level 70 you can use blood pills or Reset Stats Scroll to change for full DEX instead of VIT. This maximizes the damage you deal and gives u more evasion wich is great for PVP and when fighting mobs that deal a high amount of damage. I personally waited until lvl 75 before I made this change because before that I had problem with the loss of defense and HP from this change.
At lvl 78 I turned pure PvM. By that I mean I lowered my INT to max out both VIT and DEX instead. This helps me tank a lot of mobs easier, but leaves me weaker in PvP.

Skills
To see a complete list of shaman skills, see Shaman skills
Start out by putting one point in each skill except Attack Up. In my opinion Attack Up is the most useless skill in this game.

First master you need an attack skill. You got a choice here, if you are gonna focus on PVP you should go for Lightning Throw or Lightning Claw because of the short cooldown time. I wanted to be PVE and went for Summon lightning because of its massive damage and ability to hit many enemies at once.

Second master should be cure. The main advantage of being a healer is your ability to heal!

Third master in my opinion have to be swift. Most people only see the movement speed but the main advantage of swift is the increased cooldown speed. Get it high M as soon as possible, in combination with a cooldown+4 and some spell speed bonuses u can cut your cooldown time in half. That gives u the ability to use your skills continuously.

Fourth master is the attack skill you prefer. If u didn’t master Summon lightning as first now is the time to do it. I use Lightning Claw only for lureing so my fourth master was Lightning Throw since I got Summon Lightning as first.

Equipment
To see a complete list of shaman weapons, see Shaman Weapons
Try to get equipment with INT and spell speed bonuses. After lvl 30 get an Autumn Wind Fan+9 (lvl 30) with high skill damage. This is the only fan u will need until lvl 65 if u get a good one. No other fan before Salvation Fan is better.
Also get yourself an Antique Bell+9 with high average damage, you will be needing this to fight from horse. You will do fine with this until high level too.
When yo get to level 75 you will need to get yourself a Bamboo Bell or preferably two and make one of them for pvm and one for pvp. Many people don’t see this but a bamboo bell+9 with the right bonuses can be better than an Epic Salvation fan. Just to prove my point:

Bamboo Bell+9:

209-245 attack power
207-217 magic attack power
26% attack speed

Epic Salvation fan+9:

159-181 attack power
185-205 magic attack power
30% attack speed
15% HH

If you get 10HH and 10+ skill damage on the bamboo bell its far better than epic salvation.

Horse
Get a war horse as soon as possible, you will be depending on it to level until you are high level. Learn to fight from the horse, jump off to heal, back on, off to attack, back on and so on. It takes some practice but is very effective ones you learned how to do it. don’t leave it as war horse though, make it Military too.

Dueling
I can’t count how many arguments I been in over this but I will state my point of view. Healers have all long range attacks, and we have a skill to make us fast so we can dodge attack from our enemies. We don’t have any skills that make us stronger or able to take more damage, our skills are to give us the abillity to evade the attacks and heal ourselfes when we get caught. So in a duel that is what we are supposed to do, try to dodge the attack of our enemies, stay away and hit with our long distance skills. This is the same as for bow ninjas. Don’t listen to argument like in a duel you are supposed to stand still and take the damage, that’s bull****. In a duel you are supposed to use your skills in the best way possible to beat your enemy.
Warriors have skills that either make them deal loads of damage to kill fast or that gives them high defense so they are able to stand close and take a lot of damage. That is their skills that they use the way they are intended. We should do the same, use our skills the way they are intended.

Additional notes

Finish all the Biologist quests as soon as possible. They will help you a lot

Get started on polymorph skill as early as possible. P poly will be needed later on and is great for leveling in cave2 or red woods if you struggle doing it normally. But before P you only stay in poly for 10 minutes and this will cost you a lot. P poly gives you 35 minutes and you can gain a lot of exp in that time.

For all characters is valid: It makes sure that your talents wrap around of stage 16 to 17, on masters. If this should not happen, it goes put back (goes only to level 30 and thus only with the first master) or uses to the old woman and lets Book of forgetting. Tries it thereupon again, until it folds. Each stage, which needs its too much, means a given away level, what will particularly annoy you in the High level range.

Defaultskills[edit]
The Defaultskills is valid for everyone, which wants to simply only play drauf and keep open its character loosely for everything wants. Thus it offers to a balanced Skill to select itself: For the standard Skill one should pull up STR and VIT to 40-50 point in the relationship 1:1. Afterwards one adheres roughly to the regulation ” 10 STR more than VIT”. However one can adapt some little to its equipment, if one has anyway a good equipment for the next level, can one in this time a few points of VIT more set, in order to increase the damage.

Geodragon (Geolangsat)

‘Mental Warrior ‘
In case you would want to be a PvM mobbing build I would advice the following:

there are 3 times that I would advice to change your stats build:

0 ~ 55

56 ~75

75 +

For beginners I would always advice a 2 : 1 vit str build. Simple reason is that mobs don’t do much damage in these early stages. And one of the main ways for making money is hunting metins. If you want to hunt metins, you NEED the str otherwise you wouldn’t be doing damage at all.

Once you reach around lvl 56, you will be killing mobs that are doing a lot more damage and you would start thinking that you need more defence instead of more attack power. For this reason, the best build for this stage of your character would be a full vit : rest on Dex. I have tried this build myself and I should say it was the best built for me. I could still receive some str on my EE +9 and other str bonus on items to deal a bit more damage adding to the damage increase of my skill by the Dex I am training. You will see a huge difference in the amount of mobs that you are able to tank with this build. One huge drawback though…Metin hunts should not be your main target, since with this build your damage on metins will suck. Suck badly. So if you still want to be a full time metin hunter, go for the traditional vit str build. If you want to be a tanker, go for the build I mentioned .

now finally, at lvl 75 you will have enough points to go back to the first build. So lvl 75 + would be Full vit : Full str rest on Dex. Reason for this is that at lvl 75 you will have enough points to make for a decent evading. I think if you have full str, full vit and rest on dex, you will have around 26 evading. With 30 being max from stats, you won’t be losing much, but most of all, you will see HUGE difference when hunting metins

In case you want to be a PvM Metin build I would advice the following:

1 : 2 vit str at all times. Make sure you max out str since this is the main stat for hunting metins.

Skills: PvM
First of all, make sure you have at least 1 skill point in each and every skill. You should always master Strong Body first. Strong Body is what makes a mental, a mental. It increases your defence and since you don’t have much attack power, it is the next big thing. Now, about dealing damage, I would go for Spirit Strike (w) second since it is the the one that deal the most damage of all the skills. It doesn’t hit all the mobs, but it is a huge difference maker for dealing damage to mobs. Another good thing about having Spirit Strike (w) as your second skill is that it also serves as a good PvP skill. After Spirit Strike (w) I would go for Bash third. Bash is the second most strongest skill and is a clear PvM friendly skill as it hits all the mobs that it touches. And same as Spirit Strike(w) it comes also in handy in PvP since it is the second most damaging skill. After Bash, you should master Stump as fourth skill mostly because it is the third most damaging skill and is an all rounder, meaning that it hits all the mobs around you. It also comes in handy in wars for PvP. The damage is not that high, but it is not sucky either. A HUGE bonus of stump is that it can block someone’s attack if the faints kicks in. If you manage to master all skills at 17 points, then your last master would be at lvl 86 and would be Sword Strike. The only positive about sword strike is that it stuns. That is why 1 point in it all the way till your last master is the best thing. At first I thought that this skill is a PvP skill, but this skill just sucks big balls.

Skills: PvP
If you want my advice on how to build yourself the perfect Mental Warrior PvP…there is no such build. Many will disagree with me and say that you should master Sword Strike first. Yes, Sword Strike is a homing skill which means 100% that you will do damage. But what damage? Sword Strike’s damage is just so low, even for me and I am lvl 88 and it is G 1. At G1 if I make a hit on someone who has 60% 2 hand def with Sword Strike, if I make 800 damage, I would be doing a lot of damage. So the only good thing about Sword Strike is that it is a homing stunning skill. My best advice is to get to know your mental GOOD. Get to know when to use your other skills and what the range is to shoot your skills. The best built for a Mental Warrior will remain the above mentioned PvM built. Sword Strike should remain your last master skill as the damage just cannot be compared to Spirit Strike (w), Bash and Stump.

Things that needs to be kept in mind for Mental Warriors:
Mental warriors are not based on the normal attack damage but rather on their skill attack damage.
Mental warriors depend heavily on a Cooldown Bonus (stone of cooldown, cooldown on armour and weapon and necky)
Mental warriors don’t need to depend on swords since our damage is low already. (only if opponent has a lot of two handed def)
For 65 + Electro is PvM weapon, Partisan is PvP weapon.
(to be added)

How to uninstall/delete Metin-2 from your PC
If you have finished playing Metin-2 and wish to uninstall/delete the game to free up space, this guide will tell you how. Also some players have had issues when patching the game after updates, when this happens they may have to remove the game completely and re-download the game.

Step 1: Locating Metin-2 files/folders
On your desktop and/or your quick launch menu (which can be accessed by clicking the START button) right click the Metin2 UK icon and scroll down to properties, then left click. Once you have the properties window open you then click on the shortcut tab at the top. You should now see the option to ‘find target’.

1 How to retrieve a lost/forgotten password

1.1 Step 1: Making the forgotten password request
1.2 Step 2: Authenticating ownership
1.3 Step 3: Creating your new password

How to retrieve a lost/forgotten password
Sometimes players can forget their password in which to log into the game, this happens a lot with new users or players who’ve had to change their password recently due to their account having being accessed illegally.

Step 1: Making the forgotten password request
first navigate to the home page http:/Metin-2.com/ On this page located to the right is a box headed by the word ‘Login”, with 2 boxes which normally you would’ve entered your account ID and Password. On this occasion because your password has been lost/forgotten you can click the link underneath the password box which says ‘forgotten password?’

Step 2: Authenticating ownership
Upon clicking this link, a new page will appear, prompting you to put in your user ID and e-mail address. This is part of the process of confirming your ownership of the account before letting you assign a new password to it.

once you’ve input your ID and E-mail address correctly you will see a new page which will prompt you to check your e-mail for a link to create a new password for the account

one you’ve accessed your e-mail account, you should see a new message from ‘noreply@mmogame.com” with the subject ‘Metin2 – New Password’ similar to the picture attached below.

note: as the mailing address suggests this is an automated mailing address and any mail sent to it will not receive any replies what so ever as it is not checked. Any further issues with not receiving this e-mail should be sent to a GA via the ticket service on the forum, which you can find at http://board.Metin-2.com/

Step 3: Creating your new password
Inside this e-mail you will recieve a link which you must click to continue the process (or copy and paste to your address bar) which will open a new window, with the following page asking you to create a new password. Once you’ve done this click on the send button to confirm this new password.

If this has been successful you will now see a new page like the one below stating so.

Congratulations if you see this new page you have successfully created a new password for your account, which you can now use to login to the game or the home page http://Metin-2.com/
